Cannot access publicly shared folder when in AD

Problem description

You are authenticated in AD and the user is mapped with a local Storage user. The permissions are all right.
But you are asked for the password when trying to access CIFS shared folders.

Possible explanation and solution

One probable cause is the integration between the AD and the Storage operating system.
Check if your hostname contains upper case letters.
If it does, change your hostname to lower case.
